Blue first came to us through Josh’s mother, who lovingly cared for her most of her life after her former owner could not. When we stayed with Mom, Blue quickly became like our own cat, spending most of her time with us over Covid lockdown. When Mom needed to relocate for her health, we were grateful and eager to welcome Blue into our new home.

About 2 months ago Blue began losing weight. After two separate hospital visits, her condition has now worsened and she’s at VCA Bakersfield with a fever, high white blood count, and possible liver issues. After $2000 already spent, she needs an ultrasound and continued hospitalization care, but Bakersfield cannot provide the treatment she requires.

Blue is happiest when she’s curled in someone’s arms or soaking up affection from the room. She will sit with you when you’re sick and lick your tears away when you cry. She will tap dance on your computer keyboard to write her memoir at night and snootily shove her tail in your face when you get into an argument as to why she should clean up after herself. Blue is the best part of coming home.
