Blue was adopted almost 9 years ago. He had been abused and had a hard time trusting people. My daughter has 2 mini Aussies and my son has a miniature dachshund. He has bonded really well with them. They see him as a pack leader. He prefers to chase wildlife all day around our backyard. When he is indoors, he thinks he’s a lap dog.

We have discovered Blue is going to need surgery to remove what was believed to be a cyst. It has since grown to the size of a softball and is severely stretching his skin. It is becoming hard for him to run and walk, even urinate. Blue ‘s vet is Dr. Kamerer in Sidney IL. He had been seen by Beaumont Animal Clinic in Urbana IL, but Dr. Beaumont retired.

Blue is very special to our family. He was very close with my father who passed away 5 years ago . He was able to sense when my dads blood sugar was low and would help alert him. Once I had taken Blue on a hike in the woods, got lost and Blue was able to get us back out to our family looking for us. The other dogs see Blue as a big brother and wait for him before doing anything. He is our rock.
