Bodacious (Bodie) is a 5 year old special needs Pitbull mix. I rescued Bodie from the the Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center 5 years ago as a puppy. He has had a great life, but a very tough one. He has a 2 year old female sibling. He's great with with other animals, and people. Loves kids. He has a very chilled out disposition.

He and his sibling live in the house. They have a nice big fenced in back yard to play in. They like for me to turn on the sprinkler for they can play in the water. It's their favorite thing to do. They also like playing Frisbee as well. He's the most loving and friendly dog I've ever known. He loves everyone.

I was laid off last year and I am still looking for work. I also had an accident which needed knee surgery, and shoulder cuff surgery. I am taking care of my medical bills, but I'd really like to get Bodie his knee surgery before it gets worse.

Bodie is 90% deaf from a med side effect. He has genetic hip dysplasia. He also has epilepsy, which he takes 24 pills a day along with a liquid to keep the seizures away. He started limping last winter, which we thought was associated with the hip dysplasia. I took him to an orthopedic surgeon (Dr. Dassler at Bay Area Vet Surgery) and he was diagnosed with a torn CrCL. He needs TPLO surgery.

Bodie loves to play in water and roll in the mud. He's quite a character. He loves to hide under his bed, and take his stuffed animals and throw them in the air. He also used to like to play tug of war with the stuffed animals with his sister. But since his torn ACL (CrCL), he holds on to the toy and lets his sister drag him around the living room. It's pretty funny.
