About this campaign
Bonnie has already endured more than any cat should. She was living with approximately 20 other cats in an abandoned home after their caretaker passed away — and no one realized it for several weeks. When authorities discovered the situation, the police department reached out to Campbell Cruelty & Humane Rescue for help. Their team stepped in to safely trap the cats, provide medical care, and find them loving homes.
All of the cats have since been placed — except for Bonnie.
When Bonnie was rescued, she weighed only 5 pounds and was in rough shape. She was suffering from stomatitis, a painful condition that causes severe inflammation in the mouth, making it extremely difficult to eat. Despite her discomfort, Bonnie has shown incredible resilience. With soft canned food, antibiotics, and pain medication, she has gained 3 pounds and is finally starting to feel a bit better.
But this is only a temporary solution. To truly relieve her pain and give her the quality of life she deserves, Bonnie needs a dental procedure to remove all of her teeth. While this may sound drastic, cats with stomatitis often thrive after extractions and go on to live happy, comfortable lives without chronic pain.
Campbell Cruelty & Humane Rescue is committed to giving Bonnie that chance, but the cost of this specialized dental surgery is significant for a rescue that relies on donations. Bonnie deserves to eat comfortably, groom without pain, and enjoy her forever home.
Your support can help make that possible. Every donation — no matter the amount — goes directly toward Bonnie’s dental care and recovery.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing Bonnie’s story also helps tremendously. Together, we can give this sweet girl the pain-free, happy life she’s been waiting for.
5/2/26 Update
Thanks to your incredible support, Bonnie is continuing to gain strength while she waits for the next major step in her healing journey.
Since being rescued from the abandoned home, this sweet girl has come so far. With soft canned food, antibiotics, pain medication, and lots of loving care, Bonnie has gained weight, feels brighter, and is finally experiencing some relief after living in such terrible discomfort.
Seeing her stronger has been such an encouragement for everyone who has fallen in love with her. But Bonnie’s painful stomatitis has not gone away. Right now, we are waiting for an opening on the veterinary schedule to get Bonnie in for her much-needed full dental procedure. As soon as the clinic can fit her in, she will undergo the tooth extractions necessary to finally eliminate the chronic inflammation and pain she has been living with. Until then, Bonnie remains on supportive care to keep her comfortable and eating.
While we are thankful she is stable, this waiting period does not lessen the urgency of her need. Her dental surgery is still essential to give her lasting relief and the quality of life she deserves.
Bonnie has waited long enough to live without pain. Thank you for staying with her through every step of this journey and helping us make sure she is ready the moment that veterinary opening comes. We will continue to share updates as soon as her surgery date is confirmed.
6/8/26 Update
We are thrilled to share some wonderful news about Bonnie!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, Bonnie has officially undergone her much-needed dental surgery. After months of living with the painful effects of severe stomatitis, she finally received the procedure that will help give her the comfort and quality of life she deserves.
Bonnie is now recovering well and is currently on crate rest while her mouth heals. She is being closely monitored, receiving plenty of love and care, and so far her recovery has been progressing beautifully. While she still has some healing ahead of her, we are so relieved that this major step is behind her.
Looking back on how far Bonnie has come is truly remarkable. When she was rescued from an abandoned home after being left behind with dozens of other cats, she was severely underweight, in pain, and struggling to eat. Today, she is stronger, healthier, and finally on the path toward a future free from the chronic discomfort she endured for so long.
None of this would have been possible without you. Your donations helped provide the specialized dental care Bonnie desperately needed. Your shares, kind words, and support gave her a chance at a happier, healthier life. Because of this community, Bonnie no longer has to face each day in constant pain.
From all of us at Campbell Cruelty & Humane Rescue, thank you for standing by Bonnie throughout her journey. We are incredibly grateful for every person who helped make her recovery possible.
Bonnie's story is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when compassionate people come together to help an animal in need. Thank you for giving this sweet girl the second chance she deserves.
