BooBoo Kitty is a 8 month old American Shorthair in Denham Springs, LA, who needs $2,000 for PU (Perineal Urethrostomy) Surgery.

He was a stray cat that kept coming to my mom’s house. I gave her some food to give him when I couldn’t stop by to visit. Eventually, we decided to bring him home and check to see if he was microchipped. He was not, so we decided to keep him because he really is such a sweet boy.

He was recently neutered 6/28/25 at a local nonprofit clinic. When I picked him up, he had a small red dot on his surgery site. I didn’t think it was anything alarming. I’ve never owned a cat before. Monday evening (6/30/25), I just felt very concerned because the red thing wasn’t going away and looked like it was sticking out a little bit more. I emailed the founder/president of the nonprofit.

(Medical situation continued) “This occasionally can happen with males. If you're comfortable you can just push on it so it goes back in. Be sure he isnt licking it. He might need a surgical suit.” This was the response I received. We went to get some food and some qtips to push it back in and when we got home it was protruding more. I took him to the emergency vet and am now having to pay $2000.

I am low income which is why I chose the nonprofit in the first place. I don’t have the means to pay $2000. I’m a single mother of two and we’ve grown deeply attached to this sweet boy.
