About this campaign
Boots came into my life almost 3 years ago now as a kitten. She was going to be a buddy for my existing cat (Charlie). I’ve had her since she was old enough to be away from her mom and she’s been my baby girl ever since! She’s got plenty of nicknames as her original name was Biscuit. Boots, Bootsy Girl, and Mama are all acceptable names though.
Boots is definitely quite the adventurous kitty, which is how we think she may have gotten into this situation. She always loves to be on top of the highest point in the house, whether it’s the cat tower, or on the cabinets. She’s always been the climbing kitty. She’s “Miss Independent” most of the time on the futon, or at the end of the bed. But when she wants to she will snuggle up on your lap.
Boots is always in the mood for food. She will give you the most adorable head tilt whenever you’re eating something that looks good to her. Although she’s fed on a normal schedule, she always acts like she has never had food before and eats it up so quickly and she loves treats. She will play with the laser all day, too.
Unfortunately, a week or so ago, Boots suddenly became unable to walk. After an emergency trip to the vet, we quickly found out that her hip had popped out. Although the vet was able to pop her hip back in, it was not successful. She now needs FHO surgery for her to be able to live a normal life again so her hip doesn’t keep popping out.
Although we do have an emergency fund, it is not enough to cover all the necessary unexpected costs for Boot’s surgery, especially on top of the costs that the emergency visit brought up front. Boots cannot stay the way that she is, so she needs this care.
