Bootsie came into mine and my children’s lives during a crazy time. We live in Hendersonville Nc that was impacted by hurricane Helene in September of 2024. During the time of the storm a lot of pets were left behind. My son wanted to keep Bootsie and give him a home after we found him in the garage, alone, cold and lost without his mom during the storm.

Bootsie has always seemed pretty healthy. In the past few days he’s been hiding under the couch, hardly eating, drinking and hardly cuddling. (Bootsie is the best cuddler ever!) he always sleeps in my bed and i haven’t been able to get him to come out. This would be an emergency situation. I called the vet and they said it sounds like he needs xray and blood work.

Bootsie is the sweetest boy. He is my first pet, my first cat. I have three sons and Bootsie makes my 4th. I have had him since he was 4weeks old. He loves to cuddle all my boys, and playing with his cat toys that are hanging from the ceiling.he approaches us daily when we arrive home and the past 2 days he hasn’t :( our home became more of a home because of Bootsie.

I have had a rough few weeks with work. I work for a per diem CNA agency and i haven’t been getting many hours. On top of raising my kids alone and paying all the bills alone, i just am not in a space right now to be able to afford another bill.
