Boss is a 5 year old American Akita in Caledonia, OH, who needs $2,000 for Holz-Celsus Procedure and a Lateral Canthoplasty.

We adopted Boss from a local humane society December 20th 2024. We had lost our last dog Arrow in November of last year, a month before his 11th birthday. We had Arrow and his brother Buckeye (crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2022) since they were born in 2013.

When we met Boss I immediately noticed something wrong with his left eye, asked the humane society employee if there was anything wrong with it. Her response: "it's just a little goopy." I filled out paperwork, my husband paid the fee, they gave him Boss' folder, we go home. I look in Boss' folder, the 1st page states he has entropion & needs eye surgery. He will be going to COVE in Delaware OH.

Boss is the sweetest dog. Absolutely LOVES the snow, is fascinated by bubble wrap and watches TV. He crosses his front legs and folds his front paws in when he lays down, my daughter says he's like a distinguished gentleman. Boss is extremely smart and there hasn't been a day yet that he hasn't made us laugh.

We weren't told of his medical condition until after we completed paperwork & paid the adoption fee. Having recently invested in a new roof, we have depleted our financial reserves. It would be unjust to make Boss wait through a legal battle, so any donation is appreciated.
