About this campaign
Boss came into our family as a generous gesture from my father’s boss. My dad has always loved Australian Cattle Dogs. We were able to choose which pup from the pack we wanted to take home. Boss was the pup that stood out the most with his eyes and energetic self. We’ve been together for a while now, and everyday with him is a reminder of why we were drawn to those soulful eyes in the first place.
Boss was run over by a car causing a damaged hip, which has caused a significant obstruction to his mobility. After taking him in for an exam and x-rays, the conclusion was that a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery is necessary. This procedure is expected to alleviate the pain and allow for a better quality of life, with the goal of restoring normal walking ability.
Choosing Boss's name was more of his personality. As a pup, he had a commanding presence when joining our pack of four doggies, and he would sit with such authority that "Boss" just seemed to fit. It's a name he's grown into, with his strong herding instincts and protective nature. One of my favorite behaviors of Boss involves his love for water. Despite a cattle dog, he's convinced he's a fish.
Having our family pet healthy again would mean the world to us. My dad is our family's sole provider, and while he works tirelessly to meet our needs, the unexpected vet bills have hit us hard. Your support in this time of need would help our irreplaceable joy, Boss.
