My name is Reyes, and this is my best friend, Bowie. He’s been with me for the last 8 years—through the darkest and brightest parts of life. As an Air Force veteran, I’ve faced challenges most can’t see through my PTSD, and Bowie has carried me through them all. He’s not just my dog—he’s my service animal, my therapy, and my family.

Upon discovering the lump Bowie has developed a slight 'hacking' cough. Bowie is a senior rescue I’ve had since I was 18. He’s been my lifeline, and I can’t give up on him now. I am going to be truly lost without him. We’re seeking help through Planned Pethood International in Conifer, CO, as they offer low-income vet care. We’re in Colorado Springs and open to similar clinics closer to home.

Bowie is a big ol' teddy bear. Big in size & at heart, he also thinks he is a lap dog. He is extremely smart and obedient and patient. He loves kids. He is a protector of myself and my family. He loves playing in the snow and going on hikes! I also lost my childhood cousin to suicide in September 2022 & Bowie has been here through that for me. I live with PTSD from service & he has learned so much

I am currently a full time student at American Military University, I am in my senior year, I am completing my BA this year in Transportation and Logistics Management similar to my military career. It's rough since I am in school.
