Briar is a 10 month old American Shorthair in Scroggins, TX, who needs $2,000 for Jaw Surgery.

Brair who was found in the middle of the road with another unrelated kitten by Emmy Summerlin who runs 7 pups from the pines rescue. We were fostering a litter of 8 puppies for her. She was on the way to drop off food for the pups when she found Briar. He was intended for the kitty rescue but they were extremely full so we said he could live in our guest bathroom. He has been here ever since.

When the local vet treated Briar for multiple infections, she noticed his broken jaw which she thought had healed. A few weeks later, Briar developed an abscess near his mouth so we brought him to several vets to finally determine that his jaw was still broken and the infection was in the jawbone requiring surgery. We called around and found Spencer Vet Services willing to operate on Briar Jan 28

Briar is a total adventure cat. He lives in a family that hikes and kayaks with cats. He lines up at the door to put on his harness and hit the trails. He has no problem riding in a car. He has 2 other kittens he plays with and 4 older cats he spends time annoying. He is such a sweet little guy who likes to snuggle in bed under the blankets and purr or hop on your lap. He loves to eat churus!

We foster many animals and kept Briar because his medical conditions made it hard for adopters. All our extra funds go to the animals. Briar’s surgery is just a really big, unexpected expense. We already pay monthly for his meds. It would be a miracle to have him pain free
