About this campaign

My sweet baby girl came into my life as a feral kitten from a bad situation. She was brought into the vet clinic where I work with a prolapsed rectum, and after a surgery and some patience, we bonded. The feral cat rescue group gave me the okay to adopt her and I promised baby Brisket I would do whatever it took to keep her safe and happy.

Since the day I brought her home, baby Brisket has been my little shadow. We snuggle and sleep together, and she loves to sit on my lap while I eat or watch TV. My other cats adore her, especially my youngest male, Cheesedoodle. He loves her and is always up for playing or babysitting duty while I’m cooking or working. She’s become a part of the family in the few short weeks she’s been here.

Before she got sick, baby Brisket was quite the ball of energy. She was especially good at jumping, and it gave me such joy to see her flying through the air. She is very brave, always ready to attempt a jump or a climb even though she’s quite tiny. She’s also so small that she thinks she can steal food from your plate without you noticing, and she is very protective of her food!

Baby Brisket came in with her brother, who was half a pound heavier than her but had the same issues. About a week after I had her, she developed a high fever and stopped eating. He had the same symptoms and didn’t make it. On examination, it was determined that he probably had FIP. Brisket continued to decline and her doctors and I decided that we would start her on an experimental treatment.

Unfortunately, the treatment is very expensive and there are lots of medical costs associated with it. We are in a position to afford the medication but having a hard time with medical expenses. If she can be cured, I would do anything to help her get there.
