Those of you that know me, know I love my dog Bronson more than anything in the world. We drove all the way out to Iowa to pick him up at only 8 weeks old. He immediately stole our hearts, and you can tell we stole his as well. When he was about 7 months old, we moved to Austin, which is an amazingly dog friendly city. We have since gotten him two more dog siblings which are his best friends

Bronson is spoiled, he sleeps in bed, gets constant love, treats, and attention. His favorite things to do are swimming, hiking, and fetch, all which are unfortunately not safe to do at this time. He has two younger dog siblings, and while he is the biggest and strongest one in the house, he is the most gentle soul you will ever meet.

One of the things about Bronson that will forever melt my heart, is his love for each and every one of his toys. He is so sweet and gentle with his toys, giving them kisses and nibbles. Every time I come home the first this he does is grab a toy to bring to me with his entire body wiggling with joy.

What started off as some droopiness and irritation of his left eye, quickly progressed to both eyes. After visits back-and-forth to the vet, we were diagnosed with juvenile cataracts. Within a matter of two weeks, he has gone completely blind, with no hope for his eyesight to return on its own. We were recommended to Eye Care for Animals Austin with plan to proceed with cataract surgery

The stress of the surgery is way more than we could have anticipated, both in the preop testing, aftercare, and the financial burden of about $10k. In order to keep a close eye on him and provide medications 6x a day, I will also need time off of work during his recovery
