About this campaign

We adopted a dog from the humane society so our dog can have a life long friend. The dogs were happy and fine together for several hours. Then out of no where, they got into a brutal fight. Our dog Brooklyn was left with a badly fractured leg. The leg has to get amputated. The other dog was returned to the shelter after we got both dogs emergency care.

Brooklyn is our baby. We adopted her 4 years ago from the humane society. She has been a big emotional support to my Veteran husband. She also has helped our kids cope with the mitafy life and all the changes covid brought. She is an important part of our family. My kids read books to her, cuddle up next to her when they do their school work, and cuddle her when they are having a rough day.

Brooklyn has a fun personality. She is always ready to fetch a ball or just sit and listen to a book being read to her. She insists on being outside with the kids and thinks she is one of them. She loves to lay on her back with her tongue hanging out waiting for belly rubs. She loves to hike with us. She soaks up all the pets and cutely nudges your arm to let you know she wants more.

Brooklyn has a fractured radius and ulna in multiple places. She also has bite wounds. The leg fracture is so bad that she is having her leg amputated.
We had her evaluated for a repair but given the nature of the injury and the events that caused it, amputation is the better route for her.

Both of our ac unit died on us this year. We had to replace both this summer as ac is a must on Phoenix, AZ. They are very expensive and had to finance. We also had a major bathroom leak that we had to pay put of pocket Our dog is part if our every day life and emotional support
