About this campaign

Meet Bubas, a resilient street cat whose tough exterior has hidden months of pain and suffering. Back in November, Bubas was trapped as part of a TNR (trap-neuter-return) effort and received medical care for severe skin issues. At the time, veterinarians treated him with a Convenia injection, cleaned his wounds, and gave him Revolution to help with painful mange that had left his skin inflamed and damaged.

A few months later, we noticed his skin still looked terrible and his eyes had become increasingly red, irritated, and painful. Concerned for his wellbeing, we retrapped him so he could finally receive the ongoing medical care he desperately needed.

Since starting treatment for eyelid dermatitis and mange, Bubas has slowly begun to reveal the sweet cat hiding beneath his fear and discomfort. While he is still understandably cautious and not quite comfortable with full handling and examinations, he has learned to trust enough to allow us administer his eye drops — a huge step for a cat who has likely spent much of his life surviving on the streets.

Although his eyes have improved and are no longer as red or filled with discharge, they are still causing him pain and irritation. Veterinarians have determined that Bubas now urgently needs entropion surgery to correct the painful inward rolling of his eyelids, a condition that causes constant rubbing and discomfort. He is also scheduled for a dental procedure to address additional pain and underlying health issues.

For a street cat who once had little reason to trust people, Bubas is finally learning what kindness and care feel like. Every day of treatment has helped him become softer, more affectionate, and more willing to let people help him heal. Now he needs our help to continue that journey.

Please consider making a donation to help cover Bubas’ entropion surgery, dental care, medications, and ongoing treatment. Every contribution gives this sweet boy a chance at a pain-free life where he no longer has to suffer in silence.

If you cannot donate, sharing Bubas’ story can help him reach more compassionate supporters and give him the second chance he deserves. Thank you for helping Bubas heal and for showing this deserving boy that love and safety are possible.

7/28/26 Update

When Bubas first came into our care, he was a wary street cat whose body told the story of a hard life. Painful mange, inflamed skin, and severely irritated eyes had left him uncomfortable for months, and it was clear he had been suffering far longer than anyone realized.

Thanks to your incredible support, Bubas received the specialized veterinary care he desperately needed. After being evaluated and treated by an eye specialist, Bubas made a wonderful recovery. His painful eye condition has resolved, the constant irritation is gone, and he is finally able to live without the discomfort that once defined his daily life. With his medical needs addressed and his health restored, Bubas has been given the opportunity every street cat deserves—a future filled with safety, comfort, and compassion.

Even more wonderful, Bubas has found his forever home at a small sanctuary where he can spend the rest of his life protected, well cared for, and surrounded by people who understand his unique needs. After surviving on the streets for so long, he no longer has to worry about where his next meal will come from or endure life in pain. Instead, he gets to enjoy soft places to rest, regular meals, and the security of knowing he is finally safe.

None of this would have been possible without the kindness of everyone who donated, shared his story, and believed that this deserving cat was worth saving.

Because of you, Bubas' story didn't end with suffering—it ended with healing, hope, and a peaceful place to call home. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for giving Bubas the second chance he so deeply deserved.
