About this campaign
Buck was chosen by my youngest daughter Erin in 2009, because she wanted a family dog. He was the runt of the litter, all alone and the other pups did not allow him to get in and eat. She said she wanted him because she has always felt a need to look out for those neglected and less fortunate. They were inseparable. Erin passed away in 2016 from suicide. Buck was her boy and she loved him dearly. We poured our love, heart and soul into taking extra special care of him because being closer to Buck places us closer to Erin. He is all we have left from our daughter and when looking at him we see her. My husband had cancer surgery in March 2019 with a follow-up surgery in May 2019. During May of 2019, we got the bad news that Buck also has cancer when a rapid growth on his left eyelid that resembled a wart. Further testing confirmed it was cancer. In August I got laid off from my job and we survive on my husband's disabled veteran income. We had the tumor removed once in October, spending the last $1,500 our depleted savings. The tumor has grown back faster and larger and completely obstructing his vision of his left eye. We can’t afford to get it removed again nor can we afford cancer treatments.
