Buddy and Molly Deserve a Second Chance

For Buddy and Molly, every day was a struggle. The two dogs were kept tied up in filthy conditions, exposed to scorching sun, heavy rain, and the elements around the clock. When reports of their situation reached Stray Animal Foundation of India, our team first attempted to counsel their owners and improve the dogs' living conditions. Unfortunately, despite repeated efforts, nothing changed.

With their welfare continuing to deteriorate, we made the decision to confiscate both dogs and bring them to safety.

Once transported to our veterinary clinic, medical examinations revealed the toll that prolonged neglect had taken. Buddy was diagnosed with hypoglycemia, a tick-borne infection, severe anemia, and mildly altered liver parameters requiring ongoing treatment and monitoring. Molly was also found to be suffering from a tick infection that requires veterinary care.

The physical challenges are only part of their story. Neither Buddy nor Molly trusts people. Years of neglect have left them fearful, defensive, and unwilling to cooperate with treatment. Even routine medical care is difficult because they are frightened and unsure of the humans trying to help them.

Their recovery will not happen overnight. Both dogs need long-term medical treatment, rehabilitation, nutritional support, and patient behavioral care to help them heal physically and learn that they are finally safe.
