About this campaign
Buddy is an amazing dog. He’s very sweet, kind, loves to cuddle, have one on one play time and likes to wander away like a cat. He thinks he’s Mr. Independent. I initially was supposed to foster Buddy for a friend who was displaced from their home in 2020. Little did I know I’d end up keeping him for the betterment of his health and life.
When Buddy is indoors he loves to cuddle and sleep. Even though he has his own dog bed he likes to sleep next to his two siblings Thomas and Jada (both Labradors). He likes to play but on his terms. You can’t talk him into anything. He’s 13. I got him when he was 12. He’s set in his ways LOL!!
Before I decided to foster Buddy he hadn’t seen a vet in 6 years. I had no idea he was this ill. Over the past year his previous owner and I have done our best to pay for the expenses ourselves. Now it’s become too much of a burden on our finances.
In the pictures you’ll see Buddy has a growth on his lip. It’s growing at a rapid pace and I fear it maybe cancerous. His vet at All About Paws wants to remove it send it for biopsy. So do I. Buddy’s oral health is major concern too. The quote I was given the surgeries and oral care is for beyond what I can afford.
Buddy is special because his resilience is like no other dog I’ve ever seen or had. From the stories I’ve heard from his previous owners, he’s crossed busy intersections several times (running away or wondering off) throughout his life and never got hit. He’s had parvo, and other serious illnesses and survived. To be a 17lbs dog who’s so loving and “independent” I’m amazed he’s still alive.
