About this campaign

I adopted Buddy in September of 2023 from a cat rescue. Before the rescue, he was living on the street. They think he was dumped. At that time he had a very bad infection in his tail and it had to be amputated. He has about two inches of tail now but it’s still very expressive.
We live together in my apartment and keep each other company. I’m disabled, live in subsidized housing and he’s my ESA.

Two weeks ago Buddy had an accident while we were cuddling. This was highly unusual so I called his vet who saw him that afternoon. An ultrasound showed crystals in his bladder and two small stones. He’s now on special food to try to dissolve the stones. His follow up ultrasound showed no change in the stones. We’re keeping him on the food but it’s likely he’ll need surgery.

Buddy’s a very clever, playful and friendly cat. His favorite toy is his chirping bird toy. He also loves hair ties. He enjoys being on his cat tree or laying by the window looking outside. He also loves to lay on top of me and cuddle on the bed. His cuddles mean the world to me. He calms me when I’m anxious and cheers me when I’m low. It’s like he instinctively knows when he’s needed.

The estimate for the surgery is $1823.08. I’m on social security disability and work part time to help make ends meet. I don’t have anywhere near that amount of money and have no way to get it. It’s breaking me up knowing I can’t afford what he might need.
