A Couch Search Led to a Best Friend—Now Buddy Needs Your Help to Keep Wagging

Sometimes the greatest treasures are found when you aren't looking for them. When Buddy's mom went to pick up a couch she found online, she left empty-handed—but her heart was completely full. Instead of furniture, she met an energetic, happy-go-lucky Hound mix who couldn't stop wagging his tail. His owner was facing a move and desperately needed to find him a loving home.

Without hesitation, Buddy's new family welcomed him into their lives. It didn't take long to realize they had gained far more than they ever expected. Since that day, Buddy has brought endless laughter, unwavering companionship, and unconditional love to his family.

Now, this sweet seven-year-old boy needs that same love returned.

Buddy has developed multiple painful masses on his body, including a concerning growth on his left front leg. His veterinarian has recommended surgery to remove four masses and send them for biopsy to determine exactly what Buddy is facing. The procedure is critical—not only to relieve his discomfort, but to help guide any future treatment he may need.

The good news is that Buddy's veterinarian is optimistic and believes he can make a full recovery following surgery. The only thing standing in his way is the cost. Buddy's surgery is estimated at $1,488. Thanks to a generous $400 grant from Paws 4 A Cure, only $188 more is needed to cover the remaining balance required for Buddy to move forward with this lifesaving procedure.

Buddy's family is doing everything they can, but as a low-income household, they simply can't shoulder this unexpected expense alone.

We’re so happy to share a final update on our sweet Buddy—and, most importantly, to say thank you. Because of the incredible generosity of everyone who supported Buddy’s fundraiser, he was able to receive the surgery he needed to remove his concerning masses. His veterinary team removed multiple masses from his left front leg, chest, and axillary area, with several submitted for histopathology. A large lipoma was also removed from his chest.

From the moment Buddy unexpectedly found his forever family, he has filled their lives with happiness, companionship, and unconditional love. When he needed them most, they did everything they could to give that love back to him—and thanks to you, they didn't have to face the financial burden alone.
