Buddy is a 7 year old Australian Cattle Dog in waverly, TN, who needs $1,500 for Hip Dislocation Surgery.

We have had Buddy since he was a puppy. He came to us small enough to fit into your hand and has grown and moved with us through the years. 7 years, 3 homes and an extra child later and he is still an integral part of our family.

Last weekend Buddy was hit by a vehicle overnight. We took him in to our vet the next morning where they x-rayed and discovered his hip to be dislocated. They kept him over the weekend hoping to reset his joint. His hip did not stay in place and we were told he would need surgery to repair it. The weekend trip cost us nearly $800 and another $1500 is not possible with our income.

One of his most endearing traits is "his babies". Buddy has taken to "adopting" my children's stuffed animals. But he will not destroy them. He will carry them around and love on them, show them off to visitors and snuggle them. At any given point you can find 1/2 a dozen of "his babies" in the yard, the house, under his bed. Some he has had and kept for 5+ years. He loves his babies.

We are a family of 4 living off a Teacher's salary. We have very little opportunity to put money back for emergencies or savings. Right now we are faced with knowing our family's best friend is in constant pain and not beings able to help him.
