About this campaign
In March, 2017 Bunnie was 9 months old, we rescued him from a house fire. His original owner had unfortunate life events that caused her to spiral mentally. She had set her townhouse on fire with Bunnie in the house! When we rescued him, he was already blind in his right eye from the fire. He had a rough first year but he has been loved and cared for since we welcomed him into our family.
Bunnie is just a joy. My brother has a disability and Bunnie brings happiness to his life. He has warned us when our mom's blood sugar is dangerously low so that we can get her what she needs. It is amazing how he can mentally map out the set up in the house and yard so that he can move freely. When it is treat time, he runs in circles or he will jump really high even though he cannot see.
If you ask Bunnie “Where’s Bruce?” He will howl the best that his little body can muster. I have included one of his videos. If we have to leave the house to go somewhere, he will run to the door when he hears you entering the house and he will run in circles in excitement.
Bunnie has gone through not only completely losing his vision in both eyes, causing his left eye to bulge so far out of his socket that it needs to be removed and he gets constant ear infections. He is a stubborn little boy and refuses to allow the Vet to treat his ears without the necessity of anesthesia, which increases the cost tremendously.
My parents divorced in 2022 after 24 years. This caused a huge strain on my mom to support the family. There is myself and two brothers. She is a very hard worker and it pains her to not have the ability to get Bunnie the surgery that he so desperately needs.
