Our world was turned upside down when Bunny suddenly became very sick. After rushing her for emergency care, she was diagnosed with leptospirosis, a severe bacterial infection that has caused acute kidney failure. Watching our happy, energetic girl become critically ill has been one of the most heartbreaking experiences our family has ever faced.

She is loved by so many. Our children absolutely adore her. My mom lovingly calls her her "furry grandbaby." She has become family not only to us but to our friends anyone the encounters with her, from the dog park friends. Bunny is one of a kind and steals everyone’s heart, everyone looks forward to seeing her every chance they get. At home, Bunny's very best friend is our cat, Jeffisina.

The veterinarians explained that Bunny would need emergency dialysis, around-the-clock hospitalization, medications, constant monitoring, and specialized critical care just to have a chance at recovery. Hearing those words was something no family is ever prepared for.
