We own a small b&b, so when we got our dog about three years ago, we admired his natural “tuxedo,” and we thought Butler would be a fitting name for him at his new residence! He loves spending time with our guests and following my husband around the property. He lovingly greets my children when they come home from school and he’s always ready for a good snuggle session.

This week Butler had a sharp turn in his health. He began losing his balance, limping, and loosing the ability to stand on all fours. At first we thought he might have had an injury, but the doctor at LSU Veterinary Medicine thinks Butler may have something neurological going on. He is undergoing observation for the next few days.

Butler is a charming, gentle, and patient member of our family. If we are tired, he will sit with us; if we are energetic, he’s ready to go! His favorite reward is a pepperoni. At nighttime, there’s no where he’d rather be than in his “cozy cave,” meaning deep under the covers, curled up around our feet!

Butler’s sudden change is an unexpected and major medical expense. We are currently on a modest budget, as a single-income family. Having him with us as my children journey through their school years means so much to us. He is an example of loyalty and unconditional love.
