My name is Butter and I was adopted on December 19th. My mom had been looking to add another cat to the family for about a year to be a companion to my new sister. My sisters name is Peanut and when mom adopted me she thought I would make the purrrrfect Butter. My new sister is the Peanut to my Butter.

Right now I am quarantined to two rooms of the house because I am sick. I spend all day in the bedroom and get to join mom when she works in her office. I have seen my new sister through a baby gate, but since I may be contagious we cannot get close to each other. Sometimes Peanut will come to the other side of the door and meow at me, then I try to stick my paws out to say hi!

My mom expected to pay the bill for my entropion surgery. However, she wasn’t expecting to pay for my cornea repair or medication, so she needs a bit of help. She had to pay for the cremation costs of her dog this summer and that was a lot of money.

Before I was adopted, I was diagnosed with entropion. Imagine always having an eyelash in your eye! This has caused ulcers and even a part of my cornea to die off. I even get to wear a contact lens to protect my eye! The vet says I need surgery to fix my eyelids and repair my cornea. I also need to take a lot of medicine to fight the sickness that caused this, that way I don’t get sick again.

Mom says she only works with special animals. Peanut is special because she has radial agenesis and I am special because I have entropion. I am super talkative and will even respond when you talk to me sometimes. I love to play and stalk my feather toys. I hate the eye drops my mom gives me twice a day, but I love my treats afterwards. I also love cuddling with any human that will let me!
