Buttercup (aka: Sister) is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Lafayette , IN, who needs $200 for Exam and Testing.

Buttercup (aka: Sister) was my foster ‘fail’. I fostered her and her sister when they were just 2 months old for our local humane society. I fell in love, but her sister was already spoken for, so once they were available for adoption, I made it official. Buttercup learned everything from me—how to give and receive love, kisses, etc. She’s been my (unofficial) emotional support animal ever since.

Buttercup started showing signs of being sick last week, and by the weekend she wasn’t eating and only drinking a sip or two. The vet clinic—Wildcat Valley Animal Clinic in Lafayette, Indiana—is hoping to get her in tomorrow for her initial appointment and bloodwork, so I don’t yet have a diagnosis or an idea of how much care she will need. She’s lethargic, weak, and has lost visible weight.

I’m autistic, disabled, chronically ill, and was recently diagnosed with complex-PTSD. Buttercup has been my (unofficial) emotional support animal for 10 1/2 years. I nursed her back to health as a kitten, fell in love, and we’ve been snuggling ever since. She’s always brought me comfort and lots of laughter. I’d be lost without her.

I’m unable to work anymore and am going through the process to apply for disability benefits. It’s left me with no way to provide vet care in emergency situations, like this one.
