About this campaign
My adult daughter went to live with her birth mother and after a year, decided she would rather come home. She brought 2 kittens with her. She felt her birth mom would dump them outside. Button was a rescue from her yard. Her birth mom feeds a bunch of cats and her birth mom's husband ran over Button's Mom. My daughter rescued him. Now we have 5 cats and a dog.
Button is still a kitten and runs around and hollers all the time. The other cats have decided to tolerate him, but he's afraid of the dog. I think it's the tail wagging! My daughter's other rescue (Whiskers) loves the dog. I took me about half a minute to fall absolutely in love with him. He's just so sweet and funny.
I'm a teacher and we've been living on my salary for years. We've also been going into debt for years. My husband had to stay at home with our adopted daughters and we're just broke. I really wouldn't have this many pets on my salary, but 4 of them are just happenstance.
We took Button to our veterinarian right away. They treated him for fleas, worms, and an upper respiratory condition, but his breathing didn't improve. Our regular vet thinks he has a polyp in his ear and sent us to a specialty hospital, Blue Pearl, for a CT scan and removal. After spending another $200 we were told it would be about $3000 to diagnose and treat him.
Button will play with anything. Today he was enjoying my dirty sock. His favorite game is probably reaching under the door to play with the other kitten my daughter rescued. They can't be together right now because we have to get them healthy before we spay and neuter them. He loves to hide behind things and then jump out attack whatever is nearby (another cat, a toy, a shadow...he's not picky).
