Button is a 11-year-old German Shepherd/Golden Retriever Mix in Memphis, TN, who needs $2,000 for Chemotherapy.

I found my boy when he was about 6 months old. We’ve been best buds since! 11 years together and he hasn’t slowed down yet, even with his diagnosis. I was in my very early twenties when we named him, so we were just throwing names out there to see what stuck. He responded to being called buttmunch in a very cute way, by tilting his head and becoming very excited and the rest is history.

He is a mostly lazy boy at home until it is time to go outside or for a walk. He is still very full of energy and loves to play! He is a big snugglebud and 100% a lap dog. He is very respectful of our and our other pets space and is an all around good boy.

Him and I share a special bond and have kind of grown up together, in a way. He’s a very silly boy that loves to roll around and kick the air with his back legs, and keeps himself mostly entertained and stays smiling. He has a silly habit of nibbling at my beard on my chin in a back and forth way like he’s eating corn, and he will not let me rest until he gets to do it at least once a day!

He was diagnosed with lymphoma on 6/7/23 after discovering suspicious nodes. I was devastated, and was preparing to say goodbye to my sweet boy. He is 11 years old, but has no age related issues and looks and behaves as if he’s still 6 or 7.
I spoke with Dr. Mitchener at Bluff City Vet Specialists. She was confident he could reach remission by chemo, and have more time and quality of life.

Was furloughed from my job during COVID, which led to me filing bankruptcy, then ran it up again trying to fix my car which ended up a lost cause. His treatments cost much more than I can afford, but we’re handling them one at a time. His health is the most important to me.
