About this campaign

Cabela was for sale in the local newspaper and when I went to visit with her, she immediately jumped into my arms. I knew instantly that she chose me to be her mommy. She has been a huge part of my life for the past 6 years. We have 2 cats at home as well and she loves to play with them both. Cabela was named after the sporting/outdoors store, Cabela's.

Cabela loves to go for walks in the orchard, rides in the car, eat strawberry ice cream, and to play with her best dog pal, Lilly (my sister's dog). She is most at peace when sitting in my arms and will fall asleep on my chest. During the day, she stays in her crate and will put herself in there without prompting. At night, she sleeps between my husband and I.

Financial assist was provided for the first bout of chemo from family, but will not be able to receive assist for the rescue chemo that she needs. I was pregnant at the time of diagnosis and now have a 4 mo. old to financially support. Cabela has so much life left in her.

Cabela was diagnosed with lymphoma in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic which made it extremely difficult to find oncology care. Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center was willing to take her on as a patient to provide chemotherapy treatments to her. Dr. Case has provided her with excellent care and remission was achieved. We received news early this week that she be relapsing.

Cabela has a stuffed donkey that is her favorite toy and loves to chew on nylabones. She loves to open presents for birthdays and Christmas. She has separation anxiety when people she loves tries to leave but will greet you with lots of tail wags and kisses. Cabela has the sweetest eyes, softest kisses and is the best snuggler. She always knows how to cheer me up when I have had a bad day,
