Caen is a 8 year old Boxer in Saint Louis, MO, who needs $1,000 for Diaphragmatic Hernia Repair Surgery.

Caen started life tough. He was found picking in the garbage in McDonalds in Jonesboro, Arkansas. His mommy was a super nice lady, my friend. Her husband DID NOT like Caen, as soon as he became breeding age, her husband started to beat him. He did not want Caen to get his purebreed pregnant, and beat him to make the point. I got him as I was going on a trip and her husband offered to let Caen go,

So, I have 3 dominant males I have to rotate through the herd/ pack. Caen is the oldest and 2nd largest. Anyway, he has been in 2 fights with one male (his doing) and 1 fight with the other. We woke up a week ago and he had a pooch poking between this bottom set of ribs on the right side. since it has crossed and started to pooch the left side too.

Caen is a LARGELY "leave me alone and let me sleep" kinda dog. He has loved camping with us and going on trips. He whines in the car but he loves it and is excited. The thing we find VERY VERY surprising is that Caen has these moments when he will sniff you, and if he likes you, loves you, will give you this little kiss. A Caen kiss is VARY rare.

Caen is my second dog. First rescue. I thought that I would be set by now, but it has taken 5 years to just get comfortable, I have actually rescued 4 more dogs after Caen, all with horrid stories, but Caen was one I had to sit and watch go through all the horrible beatings.
