Cali is a 11-year-old Lab, Shepherd, and Rotweiler in St Petersburg, FL, who needs $2,000 for Laryngeal tie back surgery .

My sweet girl Cali became my fur baby 8 years ago. The first year of her life was rough, she was mistreated and ended up in a shelter until one of my friends adopted her. Cali was part of their family until their other dog snipped at their baby. They decided to rehome both dogs due to concern that something would happen again, so I decided to make her part of my family.

Cali is the best girl ever, I'm sure you've heard that before about other dogs but she really is. When people interact with her they always say that I was right, she is the sweetest dog they have ever met. She still tries to be playful but her breathing issues cut it short. She also loves to take rides in the car and walk but that has also been minimized sue to her issues breathing. ( see video)

Due to COVID we are starting our school year 2 weeks late so I won't get one of my paychecks and the surgery is 3500, so far I've raised 1,000 and I have 500 but I am struggling to get the extra 2, 000. Cali needs this surgery to get her quality of life back. Thank you

Jan. I noticed something was wrong with Cali, she was panting more and her breathing sometimes sounded odd. Feb -1st appt steroids, 2nd appt - intubated - and wrongly diagnosed 3rd appt- examine & they weren't sure what was wrong, 4th,& 5th appointment-w/new vet -blood work, chest extras, steroids 3x for 9 wks, 6th-told I needed a specialist 7th-diagnosed Laryngeal paralysis-surgery needed soon

One of my favorite things about Cali is she still tries to be sneaky, she watches me and if I'm not looking, she'll look for a way to poke her head or nose out of the fence like she's going to escape. Once she notices I am watching her struts off like she's saying to me "there's nothing to see here" lol
