Callie is a 5-year-old Lab/German Shepherd Mix in Ennis, TX, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.

Callie Louise came into my life when my parents became fosters. They helped rescue a feral mama dog and her nine puppies, one of those being Callie. I fell in love with her instantly, as does everyone that meets her. Along with Callie, we also rescued her sister Abbie. I brought them home with me where they got to meet their little big brother named Jackson. Callie is a ball of fluff and love!

Callie loves to do just about anything! She is completely content with snuggling in bed with mom and dad all day or running around her brand new backyard. She believes she is a little dog while she cuddles in bed with her humans every night. She loves trips to see her Bebe and Papa where she is the best grand girl. Callie loves car rides, stealing toys from her siblings and lounging in the pool.

Callie is always keeping us on our toes. She is such a goofball when she’s running around her big backyard or sneaking up to steal toys from her brother and sister. One of my favorite things Callie does is when she jumps up on the couch or bed where I’m laying and plops down in my lap like she’s a little dog. She loves to paw you until you give her love and belly rubs.

Recently Callie began hopping on her back leg. I became worried while everyone else told me she was okay. The next day when she still couldn’t walk, my dog mama heart knew something was wrong. Thankfully the vet was able to see her that day but we were given the news that Callie had a full tear of her cruciate ligament. Callie will undergo TPLO surgery on 1/19.

Last year during my 2nd year of teaching first grade, I finally was able to purchase a house with a big backyard for Callie and her siblings to run around in. Unfortunately, I have also had quite a few medical issues myself recently and am struggling to keep up with bills.
