About this campaign

This is my diabetic diva Callie. She’s 12.5 years old and lives with her 14.5 year old sister Tuna. Her story started in a cardboard box on the side of a road in rural Ohio at about 4-6 weeks of age. They were bottle fed until old enough to transition to kitten food, and then Callie found her forever home with Tuna and I.

As the Covid pandemic hit full steam, Callie was diagnosed with diabetes

Callie has lived with her sister and mom her entire life. We have moved many times, but she has her people and as long as we are together she calms down and calls the new place home.

She enjoys spending her day lounging in the cat bed in the window with her sister nearby, catching all the rays she can.

Callie has always been a quiet, serious gal, but also loves to take your stuff and move it to a new place. She’s spicy, but can be the best to snuggle when she is in the mood.

She can often be found hanging out at the local watering hole (bathroom sink) or behind a door waiting to grab your foot as you walk by.

Callie has struggled with complications from diabetes since early December. She is currently in her 2nd ER Vet stay since that time and has high ketones. She’s staying at an emergency hospital and is paid for at least 2 days at present. Estimated costs will far exceed the $2,000 requested.

Being the second hospitalization in 1.5 months, funds are getting very tight. This will not cover the estimated cost for her full stay, but will help with some of the care required to get her back home snuggling with her family.
