Calypso is a 7 year old Egyptian Mau in French Camp, CA, who needs $2,000 for Surgery.

I accepted her from a cat breeder who was closing down her breeding program and went and picked her up not far from where I live. She lives with me in my house with my other two cats. She didn't cost me anything but I always wanted a Egyptian Mau and I said yes.

I was told because she was an older breeding queen and she was fixed at 7 years of age but she developed mammary carcinoma. She had developed this before I picked her up and it was because she likely developed it from not being fixed until much a later age. When cats are are not fixed early they have a much higher risk of developing this type of breast cancer basically.

She is so sweet, she is young and her cancer is still in the early stages according to the biopsy on the lump that was removed. She is skittish at times, and can give some attitude but she sure does love food and is very food motivated.

I am currently a student only and I am doing an internship to be a teacher where I can't work currently and I need to complete it so it makes it hard to financially be able to have her surgery and chemotherapy where she can have a higher chance of living longer.
