Cane is a 9-year-old Domestic Shorthair in Pompton Lakes, NJ, who needs $1,950 for TTA surgery.

Cane, Lake & Stone were/are the kids I never had. I never married or had kids. I’m a school teacher for the last 20 yrs. Cane is my sweet and loving 9.5 yr old pup rescued from Mississippi at only 8 weeks old. Lake is my 5 yr old kitty that I rescued when he was 3 months old. And Stone was my 4.5 year old kitty that I rescued when he was 6 months old.

When Cane was a year old, we work together as a team to get him state certified to be a therapy dog so that we can give back to our community. We are proud volunteers through the bright and beautiful dog therapy organization in New Jersey. He’s brought smiles to so many people and so many children. I’m proud of him and I can’t wait for us to be able to return to different places to bring smiles.

From the moment I picked Cane up from a rescue organization that rescued southern puppies and kittens and dogs and cats, I knew that he was a very, very special puppy. He has helped me in so many ways throughout the years, and the least I could do now is to be there for him and get him the surgery that he needs to be able to walk again.

As a team, we are going to help him enjoy life again. In October 2021, Cane began to limp. I brought him to the vet, and they told me that he may have torn little piece of his ACL. I was given a meds & to not let him run for 2 weeks. He was doing well until a month ago when he was doing what he loves the best, chasing squirrels.

Unfortunately, as he was running, I heard him yelp, and immediately walk towards me with his leg up. On Oct. 30, 21 my 4 yr. old cat was sent to heaven because he was in renal failure. Cost was $4000. On Nov. 19,21 my 5 yr old cat had emergency PU surgery $4,500. On Dec 20,21 my dog completely torn his ACL & needs TTA surgery. $5,500. I have charged all my credit cards.
