Canela is a 10-year-old Chihuahua/Fox Terrier in Bay Shore, NY, who needs $2,000 for Hernia Surgery.

My dogs names are Canela and Dulce (sisters). My parents adopted Canela when she was 2 months old from a bad situation. She has been a wonderful gift that my family has loved for many years. She is suffering with some problems that my parents are not willing to pay for. I am a college student with little financial savings. She has a big hernia and a very bad skin infection that wont go pls help us

She is one of the best things that have come into my life. I am very scared to loose her. My parents told me that we cannot take her to the vet because the bill is too expensive. I took her anyways when her hernia was very small. The vet told me that it might go away on its own but if it doesn't that surgery was needed. It is estimated to cost 5,000. And I cant pay that alone.

Canela always is very sweet and caring. She loves going on walks and running outside with her sister. And she loves treats. Its kinda hard to find treats that don't make her get sick though because she is allergic to multiple things. Canela is a very good girl. She listens very well and follows commands perfectly most of the time. She is a pleasure to have in the house.

Canela has suffered all her life with skin problems especially with dry skin. She also gets ear infections constantly. I have bought medicine that has calmed down the infection, but every know and then the infection comes back.

I am a college student with no job. I get all my money from side hustles like crocheting or babysitting. Thankfully I have a full ride to college, but I can barely buy the things I need with the money I make. My parents have told me they cant pay for the surgery.
