Canela is a 4 year old Doberman Pinscher in Wilmington, CA, who needs $5,000 for Surgery to Fix Broken Left Leg.

On May 6, 2026, my wife heard the cry of a dog coming from brush near the 710 Freeway in East Los Angeles. She called CHP and asked if they could assist in locating the origin of the cries, but CHP did not respond. On May 7, 2026, she returned to the same location and once again heard the cries of a dog hidden inside the bushes. My wife was able to locate the origin of the cries.

We found a clinic to treat her left leg fracture.
We plan to reach out to organizations to foster Canela and, hopefully, find her a permanent home. Until then, we will take care of her and ensure she receives the care she needs.

We have only had a few hours with Canela and already she has shown so much determination to survive the harsh conditions where she was found. It is assessed that she was left abandoned to die alone and that is something no being should experience. She definitely has shown us her love and strength but she needs assistance.
