About this campaign

Meet Cara. She is the sweetest girl that Stray Dog Support found outside the walls of a hospital in Alexandria, Egypt. She, along with two others they rescued—Cassie and Cassidy—had clearly been subjected to medical experimentation. All three had identical wounds on their backs—consistent, deliberate, and heartbreaking to witness.

But Cara still greeted her rescuers gently and trusted them to bring her to safety.

Since their rescue, Cara and her companions have been receiving laser therapy and ongoing wound care treatment. Recently, Cara went in for another check-up and blood work, and they are so relieved and grateful to share that she is doing great. Her blood work came back good, and her wounds have now healed into scars. She is now ready for her spay.

Those scars will always be a physical reminder of what she endured, and we know there are emotional ones too. Cara is still very shy and cautious—and who could blame her? But we truly believe that with time, patience, and love, she will begin to come out of her shell.

If you can donate any amount, we would greatly appreciate the help to support Cara through her healing journey. She deserves it!
