Carli is a 3 month old Mix-Breed in Houston, TX, who needs $2,000 for blood transfusion, diagnostics, and rehabilitation.

Carli was found as a stray, covered in fleas and with a potbelly full of worms. Just when it seemed like she was finally safe, tragedy struck—she was attacked by another dog at the finder’s house. That’s when ThisIsHouston stepped in to make sure she got the urgent care she needed.

X-rays and a CT scan thankfully came back clear, but the attack left her unable to stand or walk. Carli has been staying at the vet clinic, where she’s receiving daily rehab exercises. And this resilient little fighter is already making progress!

She’s still knuckling on her front paws and has some weakness on her left side, but she’s placing her feet more regularly each day. The team says she’s a bit of a “slow motion puppy”—a little lazy, but so determined to heal in her own time. Along the way, Carli has fought through coccidia and hookworms, and even needed two life-saving blood transfusions.

Just a short time ago, this brave pup couldn’t even stand after being attacked and left with severe weakness in her legs. Today, Carli is walking beautifully with only minimal issues — and her joyful, playful personality shines brighter every day! She’s come such a long way from the frightened, injured puppy we first met. Now she spends her days playing, exploring, and soaking up all the love she missed out on early in life. Her resilience and zest for life are truly inspiring — Carli LOVES life, and it shows in everything she does!

Carli has started to catch the eye of potential adopters, but nothing is official yet — so we’re still searching for her perfect forever family.
