We have some wonderful news to share — Carlitos is officially adoptable and ready to find his forever family! 🎉
Carlitos may be a senior, but his spirit is tender, trusting, and full of love. Once he feels safe, he warms up quickly and becomes the sweetest little companion. He has a calm, quiet nature and simply wants to be close to people who will love him gently.
His vision isn’t the best, but that doesn’t stop this little guy from getting around well. He finds comfort in familiar routines, gentle voices, and soft reassurance. ❤️
Carlitos is also pee-pad trained, as he was once an indoor dog. He is incredibly quiet and rarely barks, making him an easy little shadow to have around the home.
What Carlitos needs now is simple: a safe, loving home where he can spend his golden years feeling cherished and secure.
After everything he has been through, this sweet senior deserves to know what it feels like to truly belong. 🏡💗

About this campaign
Carlitos was recently surrendered to CAMO, and he’s already been to the vet. This little guy is so uncomfortable and has clearly been neglected for many years.
His owner is battling cancer and could no longer care for him, so we knew someone needed to step in. Carlitos has tumors filling his ears, and both ear canals are completely sealed. He will likely need double TECA surgeries, which are estimated at about $3,000 per ear. We can't quite tell how long Carlitos has been living like this, but it's been far too long and he needs relief now.
He also has KCS (dry eye), meaning his eyes produce no tears at all. He will need lifelong medication to keep him comfortable.
Carlitos is safe now, and we want to give him the care he’s gone without for far too long. But his medical needs will be extensive, and we urgently need help covering his treatment costs. Once we can fully vet all of his conditions, we can get him into his forever home where he will experience love and learn to trust.

🐾 Update ❤️
This sweet boy came to us needing quite a bit of care. He needed grooming and full veterinary care, and we also discovered that he does not see very well, which means he sometimes needs a little extra patience and help navigating his surroundings.
He was also suffering from severe ear disease and ultimately required a Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA), a major surgery that removes the diseased ear canal. This procedure was necessary to eliminate the source of ongoing infection, inflammation, and discomfort and give him a chance to finally feel better.
Between his ear problems, limited vision, and overall condition, this little guy had clearly been through a lot before making his way to us. Thankfully, he is now receiving the medical care, grooming, attention, and love he desperately needed.
His journey isn’t something that changes overnight, but each day brings him a little further from the condition he was once in. We’re making sure he stays comfortable and has everything he needs as he continues to recover and adjust.
Thank you to everyone who supports dogs like him. Because of you, we’re able to give these deserving pups the veterinary care and second chances they may never have received otherwise. ❤️🐾
