About this campaign
Carrot was originally rescued in Saudi Arabia. She went through extensive medical treatment, including a leg amputation before being adopted out in the United States. She is paralyzed and incontinent, so she wears diapers. Her family went through some hard times and had to make the gut-wrenching decisions to rehome her. She joined a family in Iowa and has several special needs fur siblings.
Carrot has only been with our family for a few weeks. She is adjusting to her new family, but is struggling with the changes and it is affecting her health. She has her own playpen which allows her to have a safe space, but still interact with her fur siblings and see everything that goes on in the house. She is slowly exploring her new home with supervision and enjoys snuggles with her humans.
Carrot is very loving. She loves chin scratches and head rubs. She will meow to get her humans attention. She loves treats and responds when you tell her it's time for "crunchies." She loves to chase the lazer light and attack strings. She loves to cuddle with her siblings on her own terms. Carrot has a favorite soft blanket that she sleeps on every night. Her purrs are the loudest!!
Carrot suffered an injury that left her paralyzed, incontinent, and caused her to lose a back limb. She has had issues with constipation, UTI's, dehydration, and pressure sores. She requires prescription food, routine enemas, medicated wound cream, leg wraps, and daily toileting support and diapers. She has seen doctors in Saudi Arabia, Oklahoma, and Iowa.
I have recently had heart surgery and Covid, which caused me to miss work. Carrot has had some unexpected issues since her arrival, which have caused the bills to pile up.
