About this campaign

Cash came into our lives during the COVID pandemic. Our beloved dog died and my young son was becoming more and more depressed. We bought Cash off of a person on Craigslist and drove 14 hours to get him. He appeared fine. I took him for a checkup and our family vet informed us that Cash has serious health issues: a badly-healed, broken front leg, a busted back knee, and many other health issues.

When we first met Cash, he ran to my son in the parking lot. It was like a dog movie. He is a super sweet dog, but seems to suffer from PTSD, especially when he has leg pain, which is often. He sleeps in our bed and loves to cuddle and feel safe. Cash is 3 pounds, but thinks he's a big dog. He LOVES walks and smelling things the best.

Both my husband and I were laid off during the COVID pandemic. My husband is struggling to start his own business to put food on the table. We also have a very expensive, special needs child which prevents me from working full time because I must care for her needs.

Cash's previous owner had him put in a cast for his front leg, but it healed badly. Our wonderful vet, Dr. Matthew Cross, immediately referred Cash to Skylos Sports Medicine, for further evaluation. Dr. Jess Leasure at this location, will be preforming surgery from a 3D model that she created from an image of Cash's leg.

Cash is the friendliest dog on the planet. He will RUN up to anyone and lick them. He LOVES ice and Snow Cones. He will devour a snow cone until he gets brain freeze. At that point he becomes seriously confused. He thinks he is a larger dog and befriends the biggest dogs in the neighborhood. He especially likes Rottweilers.
