Champ is a 1 year old Rottweiler in Apollo Beach, FL, who needs $2,000 for Double Femoral Head Ostectomy Surgery.

Champ was found in a ditch after a hurricane. He was starving, covered in fleas, had two types of worms and near death. Someone posted him on Nextdoor and we decided to rescue him. We took him to the emergency vet hospital where they treated him for Parvo and said he was anemic.

Champ stayed the night in the animal hospital and almost had to have a blood transfusion. After being him to his forever home he started eating well and went from 14 pounds to 77 pounds now. However, we noticed Champ had a swag when he walks and has to sit down a lot. He cries in pain all of the time. Due to being abandoned as a pup, Champ has Sever Double Hip Dysplasia and needs FHO surgery.

From the day we brought him home, Champ suffers from PTSD. He was afraid of the rain and would curl up in a ball and cry. He has gone through training, he is an amazing gentle giant who is so grateful to have his forever home with his two moms and his Chiweenie sister, Charlie Rae! He used to love to run and play but can no longer do this.l due to his hips. He lays around all day.

I am a disabled veteran of the United States Army. I am 90% disabled and do not work so we only have my wife’s income to survive on. We are waiting on my back pay for my VA disability and will have the money coming in soon but not all in one lump sum for his first surgery.
