Chance is one of ten cats Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue saved from a terrible hoarding situation where the animals suffered in deplorable conditions.

All the cats were sick, but the nonprofit group noticed Chance was in the worst shape.

"Chance started having a difficult time breathing, and we rushed him to the emergency veterinarian where he was admitted and placed in oxygen," Melissa S., with the group, tells Waggle.

X-rays showed he had pneumediatinum, where air was found outside his lungs. This is usually from some type of tear.

Then Chance stopped eating, so his veterinarian placed a feeding tube in his body.

Despite his past, Chance has shown remarkable resilience. He's one of the most affectionate cats you'll ever meet, craving love and attention from people.
