About this campaign
Chance…I gave him that name because he was a rescue, & I told him he was getting a 2nd “chance”. I mentioned wanting a black & white husky with blue eyes & oh how lucky I was to get him. Currently, he’s the oldest of my remaining husky pack which totals 3.
All the rescue huskies/other rescue dogs over the years who’ve come through my home wants to be friends with him. ALWAYS!! He’s so laid back & has the sweetest heart.
Gets along with all animals & people. Not a mean bone in his body even when other dogs have not been so nice to him at times.
He loves his morning & evening walks, otherwise, he’s content to lounge in front of his fan & nap.
Chance is a typical husky. He is a definite talker. I call him my grumpy old man because that’s what he sounds like. He tends to talk more when he wants your people food (especially if it’s cheese…he goes crazy over cheese) or his walk.
Chance was diagnosed 2 yrs ago with a soft tissue sarcoma. It was surgically removed & been on low dose oral chemo…checkup’s with oncology every 6 wks to monitor for recurrence.
Plan was to monitor for 2 yrs. We almost made it but liver enzymes started increasing. 2 cancerous liver masses were found that can be surgically removed with favorable outcomes & no need for oral meds anymore.
The vet visit where they found the liver tumors was $2400. I went without work to care for my mother who had terminal pancreatic cancer, so paying towards debt consolidation loan, student loans, past vet oncology bills, etc. The surgery to remove the tumors will be $5000+.
