I rescued Chantilly when she was only 6 months old. She had already been rejected by two when I got her. The family before me was going to let her loose in the street. My grandmother intervened and I fell in I fell in love with her the moment I met her. She was malnourished, matted up and smelly. I don't think she was ever properly fed. She ate out of trash cans and snatched food from your had. Kibble was foreign to her. I broke all those habits. I love this dog so much, she has a super sweet personality and makes everyone feel extra special when she meets them. She loves to run and go on long walk. She loves to play with her toys and play fetch at home. Things she is unable to do now due to her injury.
In mid April I took Chantilly to get her leg and hip checked out as she was favoring her right hind leg. That vet said she was showing signs of arthritis. That leg favoring became worse so I took her back and asked for a second opinion from another vet. He felt she strained her leg, sent us home it strict instructions of no walking and rest for two weeks. A week went by and her condition got worse. Took her in and did a second exam where he determined she tore he ACL. She requires surgery which is 3000 and I am able to pay for due to my financial state. Chantilly has gotten worse and is unable to walk, as where a few weeks ago she would . walk on 3 legs, not anymore. Today she is crawling, the pain meds don't seem to work and it brings be . to . tears seeing my always happy dog be depressed and in so much pain. We need help. She can't continue like this.
