Charley is a 6-month old Frenchie in Fort Myers , FL, who needs $2,000 for Chiari Malformation MRI & Surgery .

Charley is a 6 month old Frenchie. She weighed only 1.8 pounds when we got her. She was malnourished and infested with hook worms. She needed 4 rounds of medication to finally get rid of the hook worms. She had Giardiasis and required 2 rounds of medication to get rid of it. She developed pneumonia at just 10 weeks old and required hospitalization. Now Suspected Chiari Malformation.

She was a playful energetic puppy until about 2.5 weeks ago. Now when she walks she looses her balance falling over. We took her to the vet where we thought maybe she got hurt playing with her sister Dazey May. When she did not improve in a week we were referred to a neurologist and after a thorough exam and blood work. We were told she needs an MRI to confirm Chiari Malformation suspicion.

I am on disability and have borrowed from my family all I can to help with her medical bills. Charley is my sunshine she makes me get up and walk several times a day and keeps me on my toes. I can’t bear to loose my sweet girl after all she has pushed through!

Charley was referred to SCAN from our Vet. She was examined by Dr. Kelly and Chiari Malformation might be what is wrong with her. Our regular Vet is Dr. Black at Animal General, Fort Myers, Fl. We have seen Dr. Black several times for hook worms and giardiasis. Dr. Black wasn’t sure she was going to make it but she did.

Charley has been a sweet loving puppy full life. She is such a fighter! We cannot give up on her now! Please help us save Charley so she can run and play fetch again. I hope to get enough money to get her MRI and surgery that is needed to make her life what it should be, because she deserves it after fighting through all she has in her short lifetime.
