Charlie is a 12 year old Quarter Horse in Hesperus, CO, who needs $3,800 for Ear Sarcoid Removal and Dental.

Charlie is a twelve-year-old quarter horse gelding that was left at a kill sale in Colorado by his owner. He once lived on a ranch in Wyoming, until he was dropped at the slaughterhouse. Fortunately, Denkai Animal Sanctuary rescued him before it was too late.

Sadly, Charlie has developed aggressive sarcoids (cancerous) on both of his ears. These will require surgery and Denkai Animal Sanctuary has been working with Greg Bell of Centennial Equine Sports Medicine to make this happen. He will also need a dental procedure performed to improve his oral health.

Charlie is an incredibly smart gelding. He will pick his way down a mountain with no trail, has a keen sense of his surroundings, and we believe has worked cows in the past. He is one amazing horse with a lot of life left and is so gentle with kiddos! It is heartbreaking to think somebody was willing to just throw him away.
