About this campaign
Charlotte has been in my life for 6 years, and I adopted her from a friend. My friend’s dog had nine puppies, and I fell in love with Charlotte’s big personality. So I decided to give her a human name to match her sassy attitude. She has been an only child for a while until we moved in with my boyfriend and his cat Walter. They aren't the best of friends yet but they're making progress everyday
Charlotte loves to sleep on her bed/living-room couch, go on walks around the neighborhood, play fetch/tug of war, cuddle, get belly rubs, visit her grandparents and sunbathe/run around the yard, and play with her 2 canine cousins at her aunt's house. In the last 2 years she has made a new friend, my Uncle Mark. Mark has Down syndrome and him and Charlotte are inseparable.
Charlotte isn’t just my dog , she's a family member. She’s invited to all of the family gatherings, and if she isn’t there I get a lot of grief. My Uncle Mark is the one who adores her the most. He likes to have my parents call me to ask for her, just so he can hear her bark. He is unable to say Charlotte, so he just call her “Dog” and starts barking. It's one of the cutest things I have seen.
In early February while spending the weekend at her grandparents, Charlotte ruptured her Cranial Cruciate Ligament while playing in the yard. The injury will require a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) and Arnold Animal Hospital estimates that the total cost will vary between $4300 and $5100.
Charlotte had a similar procedure on her other knee 2 years ago that cost $3500 and I just recently finished paying back friends and family members who helped cover the cost. Having to do it all over again and for even more money would be a huge financial burden for me.
