About this campaign
Cheeto came into our lives as a stray kitten. When visiting my grandparents in California back in April. They had a stray cat they took care of from time to time and she had a litter of kittens. It was love at first sight and I had to take him home. We have been together for 2 months. We have one other cat in our home. She is a beautiful calico and her name is chibi. Chibi means small in japanese.
We took Cheeto to the Arizona Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Center after he was lethargic and unresponsive. We had him tested and they diagnosed him with polycythemia Vera. They said due to his young age it’s likely related to a congenital heart defect. They quoted a few different care methods, but the long term solution costed around $4500.
What makes Cheeto so special is his comfort and interaction with us despite being a stray. He’s so loving and always excited about cuddles and playing but his condition limits him from playing because it worsens his symptoms. Even though he can’t use too much energy he is always using it to get closer to us and find his spot to snuggle in with us. His favorite thing to do is snuggle in your neck.
The three of us all work minimum wage jobs and can’t afford the procedures at this time. We are trying to save up but his condition is life threatening and we won’t be able to afford it in time. It would mean the world to us to have our baby healthy and be able to play again
